Meet the Coach Behind Latina Talks College
Michelle Sandoval is a nationally-recognized college consultant and community leader. Each year, she reaches thousands of students and parents through the Latina Talks College platform, webinars, guest speaking opportunities, workshops and individualized coaching.
A daughter of immigrant parents from Guatemala and Mexico, Michelle’s love for her Latinidad has encouraged her to visit and spend time exploring countries all throughout Central and South America including Ecuador, Chile, El Salvador and Guatemala. She is a seasoned advocate for under-served youth (internationally and locally) and their educational needs. Michelle has worn many hats in her career --marketing strategist, event planner, researcher, data analyst, translator and even Victoria’s Secret Pink Campus Ambassador. Her participation in Growth Mindset research under the advising of world-renowned Dr. Carol Dweck shows up in her college coaching as she guides students through self-awareness and the elimination of intrinsic barriers that show up throughout the college application process.
A first-generation college graduate of Stanford University, Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stanford University, with a Mind, Culture and Society Specialization, as well as a Minor in Communication and university-certified Spanish fluency. When she is not working with students, you can find Michelle hiking the Southern California trails, singing Spanish love songs or practicing ballet folklorico.
